Prepare to be terrified! We worked in small groups to put together our dance today, trying to think about how our bodies would move and travel to act like a witch! Then, we refined our ideas by thinking about how we could make our performances more dramatic…children, can you tell the world what you did to improve your work?

The minute we arrived at Bramall Hall we had to go into role as a Tudor. It was really cool! Bess and maggie the servants greeted us and then led us through the day. I could tell you so much more about it, but I’m hoping the children will post their own comments on what fun it was……in the meantime, have a look at our photos of us dressed as Tudor masters and mistresses.

Can anyone beat Miss Corns’s 79 facts record on this site?
The following slide show is a record of the amazing homework C4 did over the Christmas holidays, to introduce them to their project on the Tudors. Such creativity! It was a happy last session we had on Wednesday last week reviewing what we had all done. Homework is an excellent way of reinforcing and establishing knowledge in a subject, so a big thank you to all the parents and carers who also helped with the individual projects….hope you enjoyed it too!

…Here’s hoping you had a lovely rest over the Christmas holidays! We’ve got a lot to do this half term, what with starting our Macbeth project and learning about the Terrible Tudors! Please post below any comments or questions you may have about the project. Very quickly though, all of Year Four will be performing at the Royal Exchange theatre, mid March, in a ten minute scene per class. Our scenes are based on the witches, and Lady Macbeth. Look forward to some ‘Out, out! Damn spot!’ and ‘Hubble bubble toil and trouble…..’ winging its way to you very soon!
Well I just can’t wait until our project begins…and I know that the children are extremely excited! Before, during and after the project we will be studying the Tudors, and I’ve been looking out for some websites to add to our blog for you to access when you’re not at school. Try this one :

Last week we played our part in the school’s attempt to get into the Guiness Book of Records for the most children working on a piece of work at one time. We decided our self portraits would be done in the style of Jean Michel basquiat, who was an Afro-American artist from the 1980s. He believed very passionately in represent ing himself ‘warts and all’. He also believed that his cultural history should be reflected in his work. We have tried to think about the important things we believe in passionately and represented them in colour, words, and shape. Hope you like them!

Mr Downs has been working with us in class this term, and for ICT we have been looking at using various programmes to publish work on and create documents. Have a look at some of the ones we’ve done!
It’s so hard to just pick one…which is why some of us didn’t! Please post a comment on your favourite read or add your experiences of reading ours…..
